Demonstrative pronouns are words, such as this and that, used to indicate which nouns are being referred to and to distinguish those nouns from others. Their meaning is depending on a particular frame of reference and cannot be understood without context.
It
can be singular or a plural; it may be a near demonstrative, “this, that,” or a
far demonstrative, “that, those.”
